Microcement on kitchen walls resist water
Kitchens, along with bathrooms, are the areas of the house where the most humidity accumulates. The running faucet with boiling water, cleaning the countertop, mopping the floor, the pressure cooker constantly releasing steam... For this reason, we are certain that there’s no better choice than coating kitchen walls with microcement, as it is a material with advanced anti-humidity properties, capable of remaining intact even with direct contact with running water.
And also against stains and abrasion
Microcement is designed to withstand everything necessary and more. Not only does it excel in resisting humidity and its effects, but it also successfully stands up to the stains so common in spaces like kitchens.
We present to you the perfect coating for areas close to stoves, glass-ceramic cooktops, or induction plates, where countless splashes of oil, tomato sauce, or any other ingredient can occur.
Not to mention food stains that get embedded in walls, often worse than a horror movie. By coating your kitchen walls with this material, the problem will disappear as easily as the cleaning and maintenance process itself.
Additionally, it resists the wear and tear typically caused in kitchens by contact and impact with utensils such as frying pans, pots, or cutlery. This means your kitchen walls will remain unscathed, as if nothing had happened, no matter what they endure.
Microcement on interior walls: beautiful and durable
There is no better showcase for a decorative coating like microcement than the walls in interior areas. Their verticality and visibility allow you to fully appreciate the remarkable characteristics of this material.
In addition to being resistant to impacts, scratches, and other common mishaps in hallways or other areas of the home, who wouldn’t want to see the level of finish this material offers, capable of transforming our spaces into something extraordinary?
Get ready to fully enjoy the walls in your bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, or garages, whether in your home or commercial property, for as long as possible.
Microcement walls outside? Absolutely possible!
Do you own a chalet, townhouse, or similar property? If you’re among the lucky ones, you should know that the qualities and resistance of microcement also extend to outdoor areas. Rain, hail, sudden temperature changes, or even constant exposure to sunlight cannot damage walls coated with this material.

Applying microcement to walls: two processes depending ont he material
The application of microcement on walls is a quick and simple process, thanks to its 3-millimeter-thick coating that can be applied to any type of surface and comes ready to use. However, let us explain that depending on the material you wish to coat, the method may vary.
If you're concerned about the type of surface you’re working with, don’t worry—no matter what it is, you can completely transform it.
How to apply microcement to non-absorbent materials
On non-absorbent surfaces such as tiles, terrazzo, or slabs, the application process for microcement differs slightly. But don’t worry—the process remains just as easy and quick, as explained below.
First, clean the surface of dust and grease to ensure proper adhesion of the coating. Mark off the areas you wish to coat and apply a layer of Smart Jointer. After allowing it to dry for 24 hours, sand the surface with 40-grit sandpaper. Next, apply a layer of Smart Primer Grip and let it dry for 2 to 4 hours.
Now it’s time to bring your walls to life: apply two thin layers of Smart Base with a steel trowel, leaving a 6-hour gap between each layer. Don’t forget to sand it afterward with 40-grit sandpaper.
Finally, the last two steps: apply two thin layers of Smart Liso with a rubber trowel, allowing 6 hours of drying time between each layer. Once these layers are applied, wait 24 hours before applying three layers of Smart Varnish with a roller to protect the coating, allowing 2 to 4 hours of drying time between each layer.
By following these steps, we promise your walls will look as good as new in less than a week.
How to apply microcement to absorbent materials
What about walls made of plasterboard, plaster, or similar materials? Can they be coated with microcement? Of course they can! Here’s how.
As with tiles, absorbent surfaces must first be cleaned to remove dust or grease. Once you’ve marked off the wall area you wish to coat, apply a layer of Smart Primer Abs and wait about 30 minutes for it to dry.
After that, apply two layers of Smart Base with a steel trowel, leaving 6 hours between each layer and sanding each one with 40-grit sandpaper.
The next step is to apply two thin layers of Smart Liso with a rubber trowel, again leaving 6 hours between layers for drying. Finally, protect the microcement by applying three layers of Smart Varnish with a roller, allowing 2 to 4 hours of drying time between each layer.
We recommend sanding each layer after it has dried to achieve a flawless finish.
Now all that’s left is for you to embark on a high-quality renovation that will leave your walls looking brand new.
